Pelbagai spekulasi tentang pelumba kelahiran Australia iaitu Casey Stoner Juara MotoGP 2007 dan MotoGP 2011 yang kononnya bakal beraksi semula dengan passukan HRC. Bagaimanapun, khabar angin itu ditolak oleh pihak pengurasan HRC sendiri.
Shuhei Nakamoto - HRC Executive Vice President Berkata: 
"We are very pleased to have Casey back on a Honda! He knows this machine very well and I'm sure he can help our engineers and technicians with the development of the RC213V. We will also ask him to test the new production racer and give us his initial feedback to assist us in producing the best machine possible"
Bagi pendapat saya, Stoner mungkin hanya akan menyertai HRC team sebagai test rider sahaja. Ini kerana prestasi yang amat baik ditunjukkan oleh kedua-dua pelumba HRC Team iaitu Marc Marquez dan Dani Pedrosa.
